Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons'
The OPERA
300 years after publication, Richard adapts Vivaldi's classic in the world's first OPERA version!
Vivaldi's Climate Change
warning from the grave
What if Vivaldi had written 'The Four Seasons' as an opera?
What if he had tried to warn humanity not to ignore Mother Nature?

Collaborating with writer Jo Yeaxlee-Batch, Richard has adapted Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' in its entirety,
for operatic forces.

As if written in 1725, the story tells of an ill-fated couple who fall in love in Spring.
Mother Nature tells them their relationship is not to be, but they ignore her warnings.
The storms of Summer are signs of her wrath, but the lovers pay no attention.
They marry in Autumn and have a child.
For ignoring Mother Nature, firstly their child, and then they perish in the depths of Winter.

Think 'The Four Seasons' meets 'Dido & Aeneas' meets 'Romeo & Juliet' meets Climate Change

The first performance, in concert version, will be on 28th June 2025, in Bath, England,
featuring the Lucis Choir, soloists and orchestra
